We began on the Day of Pentecost in 1933, which gives us a rather short history, but the materials used to put our church building together have a long history. The wood and other parts of the church structure were gathered from the weather-torn Chequesset Neck Inn in Wellfleet, when it was tossed into the sea by one of Cape Cod's hurricanes. Dedicated parishioners carried the weather-torn beams and wood back to Orleans by horse-and-carriage, and reconstructed the church, thus giving its look of antiquity. In all our renovations, we have ensured that our "Cape Cod" church has retained its architectural warmth and charm. Parishioners continue to be as actively engaged today as we approach our 75th Anniversary on May 11th celebrating the life and growth of the church.
